GRANDS CRUS AND LOCALITIES

RIESLING PFOELLER

The calcareous Muschelkalk terroir of Pfoeller bestows upon the wine a pure nose with notes of citrus peel and chalky stones. The palate has a clean attack, distinguished, and an athletic acidity. As a slowly developing wine this is a riesling without compromise for the enlightened connoisseur.

RIESLING GRAND CRU SCHOENENBOURG

The jewel of the famous village of Riquewihr, this south-facing slope is established on green du Keuper marly soil. The nose is still discreet and allows floral and spiced notes to slip through. The palate oscillates between volume and mineral bitters with plenty of salinity in the finish. A fine gastronomic wine well worth waiting for.

RIESLING GRAND CRU WINECK-SCHLOSSBERG

As a terroir on a very crumbly binary mica granite known as “de Turckheim” the Wineck-Schlossberg Grand Cru has a south-facing exposure. The nose is pure and delicate with elegant floral and spiced notes. The palate is ethereal, feminine, with a fresh finish and plenty of mineral tension. A dry, distinguished wine that keeps very well.

RIESLING GRAND CRU KAEFFERKOPF

This is a terroir with a very venerable reputation (referred to in archives dating back as far as 1328). The Kaefferkopf is one of the most renowned Grands Crus in Alsace. The clayey calcareous sandstone soil gives the wine plenty of body, strength and an individual structure. The nose presents a great deal of purity, mineral character and noble vegetal notes (such as gentian ...) The finish is both full-bodied, intense and mineral (with a slight bitterness conferred by the sandstone). This is a grand vin for saving.

PINOT NOIR OAK AGED

A selection of our best Pinot Noir grapes for a vat compiled in the Burgundy style. The grapes are de-stalked by hand, followed by treading, an extended maceration and maturing in oak chips creating a very harmonious wine with a subtle bouquet of pinot noir matured “in the old style”, perfect for game, meats and cheeses.

PINOT GRIS HINTERBURG DE KATZENTHAL

Originating in a very steeply sloping granite terroir, this vintage presents a complex nose in which are mixed notes of honey and currants. The rich and mellow palate is counterbalanced by a fine acid structure. As a wine already opened it is perfect as an aperitif and with foies gras.

PINOT GRIS DORFBURG

Originating on a terroir of oolitic limestone, this pinot gris presents a pure and delicate nose of dried fruits, spices and pears. This wine is created with little residual sugar, the finish is ample but fresh. Perfect as an accompaniment at table with white meats, terrines and poultry.

GEWURZTRAMINER DORFBURG VIEILLES VIGNES

The old vines of this marly limestone terroir have created an elegant wine with notes of spices and citrus peel. The finish is dense, distinguished and balanced by a fine acidity. To be drunk as an aperitif, with strong cheeses, with spiced dishes (saffron, curry) or in its own right for the enjoyment of drinking.

GEWURZTRAMINER GRAND CRU KAEFFERKOPF

The nose presents notes of spices and flowers. The finish is powerful, concentrated and structured. This is a masculine wine which requires time, an all-round wine for keeping.

GEWURZTRAMINER GRAND CRU WINECK-SCHLOSSBERG

Harvested at its full maturity, this wine develops pure and delicate aromas, with floral notes (rose) and some hints of spices (clove). The palate is suave, very dense, with a great concentration. The finish is balanced by the mineral quality of the granite. This is very rounded and expressive Grand Cru.

GEWURZTRAMINER GRAND CRU SPOREN

From a clayey, marly terroir this Sporen presents an explosive bouquet nose of passion fruits, fresh apricots, lychee and spices. The finish is mellow but lightened by a superb acidity. A wine of great class.
